Giving back to the community at Christmas: The Festive Season at progressive

We love the festive season at progressive and December didn’t disappoint. The month was full of games, laughter, great food, and some questionable Christmas singing but productivity never missed a beat. It was the perfect way to wrap up another busy year together.

What went on at progressive?

There was plenty going on in the run-up to Christmas, both in the office and out in the community.

Dan Osborne from JAY’S AIM visited our office to provide CPR & Defibrillator training to our team. Did you know that the chance of surviving a cardiac arrest increases from 6% to 74% if a Defibrillator & CPR is used within the first 3-5 minutes! JAY’s AIM is an amazing charity that is making a difference. progressive have now funded 3 defibrillators out in the community with JAY’S AIM, with the most recent installation in Cranbrook. To date, they have provided public access defibrillators (PADs) in over 270 locations across the South West. Defibrillators are available for public use, with 999 call handlers able to guide you through their use in an emergency. Being aware of where they are located could save a life!

11th December, we fully embraced Christmas Jumper Day in support of Save the Children International. Festive knits were out in force with some being brilliant, some less so but all for a great cause. Head over to our socials and let us know which jumper deserves the top spot!

We also had a photographer pop in one morning to take team updated portrait pictures for our new website, which will be launching very soon. It’s been a while since our last shoot, and with lots of new faces joining the team, it felt like the right time for a refresh. We wrapped up the year with our Christmas Party, enjoying some of the best BBQ at BFK in Newton Saint Cyres (if you haven’t been yet, you really need too), the 2025 Christmas Awards and ended with just a few drinks at a country pub. There’s a video from the day over on our socials if you fancy a look.

Giving back to the community at Christmas

As much as we love Christmas at progressive, we know it isn’t an easy time of year for everyone. With financial pressures continuing into 2025, we wanted to do what we could to help where possible.

For the second consecutive year, we supported Poltair School in Cornwall in their incredible efforts to help disadvantaged families during this festive season. We donated over £500 worth of food for their annual Christmas hampers which went out to support over 250 families. A huge well done to Head Teacher Richard Cardigan, Assistant Head Verity Waters and the team at Poltair School for making such a meaningful difference. Glad to be playing a small part in this awesome initiative once again.

We also popped over to Nevada Construction with some prizes for their charity raffle. They were raising money for a local charity that means a lot to them, and it was great to help spread a bit of festive cheer for such a good cause.
