Quantity Surveyor

James has been the company’s QS since joining us in 2006. He came from a sales role at one of the largest structural steelwork fabricators in the country. Luckily for him, they had a small cladding division, so he wasn’t completely out of his depth when he joined progressive.

Relocating back to Devon from Lincolnshire, Exeter born James and his wife were thrilled to return to ‘the best county in the country’!

As a lifelong carp angler, James loves the outdoors, and is part of a very small group of people who have walked the entire coastline of mainland Britain! James, known as ‘swampy’ for being a bit of a tree-hugger and a massively keen recycler, does enjoy a bit of banter at the office with the good folk of progressive. Which is just as well!
And now that we recycle the vast majority of items that can be reused, he’s chuffed to bits!
